Look, I’m gonna say it, i am so bored of minecraft guys
This isn’t hate against the game, or the videos themselves particularly, it’s just my opinion. I just wish he would space them out between some other types of content, because it’s disheartening to look every day and decide to skip the upload bc you don’t like that game yk?
and for the people who will inevitably say “let him play what he wants!!! let people enjoy popular things!! he’s played long series before!! YOU DONT HAVE TO WATCH IT!!” those aren’t fair points, and imma explain why
- “let him play what he wants!” - he can play whatever he wants, and I’m happy he enjoys it. That doesn’t change the fact that a lot of people are getting a bit tired of seeing the same game every day. I’m not saying he should end the series, I just think spacing the episodes out would be an improvement
- “let people enjoy popular things!!” - I love popular things, and there’s nothing wrong with riding a trend and making videos about what’s doing well right now! The point is again about the sheer number of videos, it’s too much and leaves nothing for people who aren’t so into the game as to want a video every day.
- “he’s done daily uploads before!!” - true. But games like that (Spider-Man, DBH, etc) have tended to be story based games, with a strong narrative and an end point. People who didn’t like those games knew that they would end at some point, and relatively how far off that was. Plus, minecraft now has 26 episodes, which is more than both of those previous series by a fair margin (DBH - 13, including a couple of streams, and Spider-Man - 16, including three DLCs which were uploaded later). Also, for DBH specifically, that was uploaded when there were still two videos per day.
- “YOU DONT HAVE TO WATCH IT” - you’re right, I don’t, and I’m not! But i miss Jack, and I miss talking about the videos here. I don’t want to stop watching him, but if he makes content that I’m not.. really.. into then what can you do?
TLDR: I have no problem with the game, and I think most people you ask will say that on their own, the episodes are nice enough! I’m glad he has fun with it! But I miss the variety, I miss FHV, I miss indie games, I miss horror games, I miss games with a story that you can’t look away from.
Jack always says he welcomes feedback, and I feel like whenever anyone says anything suggesting that minecraft every day isn’t fun for everyone, they get shouted down by the points above. It’s not constructive guys, and there’s no hate here, it’s just me trying to explain where I’m coming from.
I think my main thing about it is that while, yes, it is his job, Jack only does it because he loves it, and right now he loves Minecraft. Yes, he loves his community, too, and probably wants to make them happy, but if he’s not enjoying what he’s playing or would rather be playing something else, then there’s no point in it. It may be getting boring to watch, but that may just be how it has to be for Jack to enjoy the channel right now. It sucks for a lot of people who miss watching him, I know, but it will come back around to something that interests you, and the best part about that is that it’ll interest Jack, too. Just my opinion, but at the end of the day, if he’s happy doing what he’s doing, I can stand to not watch him for a little while, and I imagine he’ll be able to stand that, too.
